The Yes-on-8 mob just this past week has attempted to blackmail anti-8 businesses, punched and kicked an anti-8 demonstrator in Bakersfield Friday night, and interrupted two same-sex marriage ceremonies in San Francisco City Hall.

Proud of your side's brown shirt tactics?

My yes on 8 sign got trashed in my front yard last night.

I put a new one up this morning.

Michael- You posted this same comment on some other site. I live in Bakersfield. My friend was at this rally and saw the whole thing go down. The anti-8 guy swung first and the yes on prop 8 guy, Ken Mettler, kicked the guy and swung back in defense. Neither one opted to file a criminal complaint. I don't think ProtectMarriage.com is blackmailing businesses. Just giving them the same opportunity many gay activists have done for supporters of yes on 8 -- make public their information. I'd like to know who isn't supporting traditional marriage. We've already altered our buying habits to support those who are for traditional marriage instead of feeding more money to the No on 8 campaign contributors.

Bakersfield boils down to "he said: she said." Neither side filed charges.

At no time did Californians Against Hate demand that Doug Manchester, the hotel tycoon, surrender funds to the No on Prop 8 campaign.

On the other hand, the Yes on 8 blackmail letters sent to 3 dozen businesses, demanded contributions of $10K and were signed by four members of the group's executive committee: campaign chairman Ron Prentice; Edward Dolejsi, executive director of the California Catholic Conference; Mark Jansson, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; and Andrew Pugno, the lawyer for ProtectMarriage.com.

Who you do business with is your choice. The No on Pro 8 side isn't advocating taking away anyone's rights.
