The decision to teach or not to teach about marriage equality is made at the local school district level by voters and parents in the district. It is not something that is ordered by Sacramento.
If you don't want marriage equality taught in your school district, run for the local board of education or attend school board meetings and let your voice be heard.
The defeat of Prop 8 will have no effect on what is taught by local school districts.
And good luck if you live or have to move to a district that is more liberal. Good luck while you're waiting to run for that next election. You'd better just plan on homeschooling. We've already seen how great the opt-out option works from Massachusetts.
