California Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown's decision to throw the weight of his office behind same-sex marriage has sparked debate over whether his arguments will actually do more harm than good for those hoping to overturn the initiative.
Brown's request that the California Supreme Court overturn the state's ban on same-sex marriage -- arguing that it undermines fundamental liberties -- has been widely hailed as a victory in the fight for gay rights.
But far less attention has been paid to Brown's long written rejection of some of the principal legal theories put forth by same-sex marriage advocates in their bid to roll back Proposition 8. Indeed, a large chunk of Brown's 111-page legal filing was devoted to shooting down a more technical legal argument used by supporters of same-sex marriage.

Didn't you guys have a referendum to decide this same sex union issue? Didn't the people decide that a marriage can only occur between one man and one women?
Forming a relationship with your dog and making promises to is is not a marriage.
Two men forming a relationship and making promises does not make a marriage.
Jerry Brown has been a disaster at most things he's done. It just reinforces to me the importance of the founding father's desire that we educate the public so they will choose good leaders, not just good political people, but GOOD people.
This guy may be good at getting elected and appointed to positions, but he works directly against the people and their authority.
With so much of the mainstream media going right along without missing a beat, it leave a lot of the educating to blogs like ours.
